According to traditional Chinese beliefs, Qi is the natural spirtual energy that exists within all of us. Few, however, are able to extend it beyond their body. Examples of such people are Ping, the Necromancer encountered at Wucheng, Danzi and a few others.

Qi can be summoned by anger and other negative emotions, but, as Long Danzi says: 'Qi unleashed by anger is unpredictable and dangerous'. Qi is exercised by mental exercises and certain plants can also strengthen Qi.
